- Farmers Branch
Farmers Branch is one of the older suburbs north of Dallas, and much of its housing dates from the 1950s through the 1970s. Long ranch homes, low rooflines, and big trees are common here, along with a growing number of new custom homes built where older houses once stood. Different Roofing serves all of Farmers Branch from our base in The Colony.

Brookhaven grew up around Brookhaven Country Club and its golf course. Homes here range from late-1950s ranches to custom builds from the last few years, on lots from about a fifth of an acre to well over half an acre. Some back up to the golf course, creeks, or private lakes. Mature trees shade almost every street.
Many of the original ranch homes have low-slope roofs. A low pitch looks clean, but water drains off it more slowly, and wind-driven rain can be pushed under shingles that have lost their seal. On these roofs we pay close attention to the underlayment, the eaves, and the valleys, and we confirm the shingles we install are rated for the roof's pitch. Older homes may also have had several roofs over the years, so we check the decking for rot or sagging and correct the attic ventilation during replacement. The newer custom homes in Brookhaven usually have steeper, more complex roofs, with more valleys and wall flashing to inspect after a storm.
The big trees are part of what makes Brookhaven appealing, but they drop limbs in high wind and fill gutters with leaves. Clogged gutters overflow at the eaves and send water straight down against the foundation.
Gusts like these can break shingle seals and lift tabs without leaving obvious gaps, and tree limbs can puncture the roof. A free storm damage inspection documents what we find with photos. If you file a claim, we meet your adjuster on site and walk the roof together. If the same storm took down part of your fence, our fence repair crew can handle that too.
When an older roof needs replacing, many homeowners choose Class 4 impact-resistant shingles. They are built to resist much larger hail than standard shingles, and some insurers offer a discount for them. Most replacements are done in one day, our crews sweep for nails with magnets before they leave, and every roof we install carries a lifetime workmanship warranty.
Farmers Branch sits on expansive clay, and the west side of the city drops toward the Elm Fork of the Trinity River. The clay swells after heavy rain and shrinks in summer, and homes that are 50 or 60 years old have been through a lot of those cycles. Large trees close to the house can pull moisture from the soil and add to the movement. Watch for stair-step cracks in brick, cracks above doors and windows, doors that stick, and floors that slope. Our foundation repair team can evaluate the slab, and properly sized gutters keep roof runoff away from the foundation.
