- Little Elm
Little Elm wraps around the eastern arms of Lewisville Lake, just north of our home base in The Colony. Living near the water is a big part of the town's appeal, and it also shapes what roofs here go through. Wind comes across the open lake with nothing to slow it down, and the same storms that drop hail on Frisco and The Colony regularly sweep across Little Elm on the way.

Valencia on the Lake is a master-planned community by First Texas Homes on roughly 448 acres along the shore of Lewisville Lake, with more than 80 acres of open green space, pools, and trails. Homes are newer, from about 2,100 to nearly 4,000 square feet, and new sections are still being built. Newer roofs here usually have builder-grade architectural shingles. They are in good shape until a big storm, and because many owners have not been through a claim on this house yet, a post-storm inspection is a smart first step.
Sunset Pointe is an established master-planned neighborhood with ponds, a catch-and-release lake, pools, and about 2.5 miles of walking trails. Many homes here were built in the mid-2000s, which puts their original roofs near 20 years old. At that age, shingles start losing granules and sealant strips weaken, so wind lifts tabs more easily. If your Sunset Pointe home still has its original roof, it is worth having it checked before the next storm season.
Both neighborhoods have HOA guidelines for exterior materials and colors, and we follow them on every job.
Lakeside homes also deal with strong gusts during spring storms and fall fronts. Wind damage often looks like a few missing or creased shingles near ridges and roof edges. Left alone, those spots let water under the roof during the next rain. A free storm damage inspection documents both hail and wind damage with photos, and if you file a claim, we meet your adjuster on site.
Homes near the lake sit on the same expansive clay found across Denton County. Heavy rain followed by dry heat makes that clay swell and shrink, and you may notice it as cracks in brick or doors that start sticking. Properly sized gutters with downspouts that carry water away from the slab are one of the best defenses, and our foundation repair team can evaluate movement that has already started.
