Roofing Contractor in Roanoke, TX

Roanoke is best known for Oak Street and its restaurants, and the Texas Legislature has named it the "Unique Dining Capital of Texas." Away from downtown, the city is mostly neighborhoods built from the late 1990s through the 2010s, close to Highway 114, Highway 170 and Fort Worth Alliance. Roanoke also sits in one of the busiest hail areas in Denton and Tarrant counties. Different Roofing serves all of Roanoke from our base in The Colony.

Brick home with a tall chimney and dark shingle roof

The Parks of Hillsborough

The Parks of Hillsborough is an established Roanoke neighborhood with homes built around the early 2000s, along with playgrounds, a splash pad, a basketball court, and walking trails. It has no HOA. Most homes are brick, many single-story, with roofs that are now 20 years old or on their second set of shingles after the big storms of recent years. On a roof this age, we check for cracked pipe boots, granule loss on the south and west slopes that get the most sun, and worn flashing around chimneys.

Briarwyck

Briarwyck is a newer Roanoke neighborhood where many homes are two-story, with game rooms upstairs, covered patios, and more complex rooflines. Taller roofs with several gables and valleys catch more wind and give hail more surfaces to hit. After a storm we check the valleys, the ridge caps, and the step flashing where lower roofs meet second-story walls, and we look at the soft metal on vents and gutters, which often shows hail strikes before the shingles do.

Recent Storms in Roanoke

  • May 27, 2024: hail up to 2 inches, about the size of a hen egg, fell in Roanoke for about four minutes, with ping-pong-ball-size hail reported across town and in Trophy Club and Southlake.
  • May 6, 2025: quarter-size hail was reported in Roanoke during a morning storm.
  • September 22, 2025: winds estimated up to 60 mph damaged trees in Roanoke before dawn.
  • April 28, 2026: half-dollar-size hail fell in Keller and Southlake, about five miles away.
  • August 26, 2026: ping-pong-ball-size hail was reported near Alliance in the Keller area.

Roofs that went through the May 2024 storm may have damage that still has not turned into a leak. A free storm damage inspection documents what we find with photos. If you file a claim, we meet your adjuster on site and walk the roof together.

Choosing a Tougher Roof

In an area that sees hail this often, many homeowners choose Class 4 impact-resistant shingles. They are built to resist much larger hail than standard shingles, and some insurers offer a discount for them. Most replacements are done in one day, our crews sweep for nails with magnets before they leave, and every roof we install carries a lifetime workmanship warranty.

Clay Soil and Foundations

Roanoke is built on expansive clay that swells after heavy rain and shrinks during hot, dry summers. Even homes built in the 2000s and 2010s show the movement over time, especially where downspouts empty right next to the slab or the yard slopes toward the house instead of away from it. Newer homes can also settle unevenly in their first years. Watch for stair-step cracks in brick, cracks above doors and windows, doors that stick, and gaps between baseboards and the floor. Our foundation repair team can evaluate the slab, and properly sized gutters keep roof runoff away from the foundation.

Frequently Asked Questions About Roanoke

  • My roof went through the May 2024 hailstorm. Is it too late to have it checked?

No. Hail damage does not always leak right away. A free inspection shows what is there now, with photos, and we can explain your options.

  • Do you work in neighborhoods without an HOA?

Yes. We work in every Roanoke neighborhood. Where there is an HOA, we check its guidelines for shingle style and color before work begins and follow them.

  • How soon after a storm can you inspect my Roanoke home?

Most inspections are scheduled within a day or two, and we are available 24 hours a day for emergency tarping.
